GLOW News: Issue 9
07 May 2005

Dear all,

The storm before the glow?

As we’re heading into the last week before GLOW begins, Bonn is having a stormy weather, with strong winds and rain. At the time of writing, it feels like 10 degree C (52 degree F) in the middle of the day…

We have been keeping an eye on the weather forecast for Bonn, as the weather here is very unpredictable. We’re afraid there’s no good news so far. Forecast until Monday, 16 May, shows the weather to be fluctuating between “partly cloudy” and “showers”. The temperatue is going to be between 5 degree C (min) and 17-18 degree C (max) (between 41 and 63 degree F).

You can check the weather forecast for Bonn here

The bottom line is: there’s not going to be warm sunshine as we had hoped. So, don’t forget to bring your umbrella and a light jacket or sweater with you!

Meanwhile, hectic preparations are going on: COT colleagues in the field are packing their bags and suitcases (some of them travel to Bonn this weekend itself, for the facilitation training). And HQ colleagues in Bonn are working to secure all logistical arrangements. In the adjoining photo, for example, Rita and Joaquim of the GLOW Logistics Team are busy preparing badges for the participants.

Naturally, there’s a lot of information to share at this stage, so we’re sending out this special GLOW News over the weekend. We’ll share with you more updated information over the coming week as we receive them.

Bon voyage to those of you who’re setting off this weekend!

Best wishes,

GLOW Communications Team
