UNV Global Workshop 2005 (GLOW 2005) - Needs Assessment

Dear colleagues,

As you know, our Global Workshop (GLOW 2005) will take place from 14 to 20 May in Bonn, Germany. The goal of GLOW 2005 is to engage all colleagues of UNV in developing a common understanding and collective ownership of where UNV is today and where we are going in our continuously changing environment.

Preparations for the Workshop are in full swing and this process includes the development of the agenda for the whole week when we'll be together to discuss and plan the future course of our organization.

We would like to ensure that everyone's valuable ideas, views and inputs are incorporated in the planning, preparation and organization of the GLOW 2005. As such, we request you to complete the following Questionnaire by close of business, Thursday, 17 March 2005. Please note that your inputs are crucial to ensure that our collective efforts can make GLOW2005 and UNV as an organization a success.

There are only 10 questions and it will require a few minutes of your time to complete them. Your responses will be completely anonymous, as no names or email addresses will be asked or recorded.

If you have any questions or need any assistance in completing the Questionnaire, please contact Sonam Lhaky at sonam.lhaky@unvolunteers.org or Deborah Rosador at deborah.rosador@unvolunteers.org

Thank you for completing the Questionnaire and let's look forward to a successful GLOW2005!!!

Note:

In case you wish to capture the ideas and views of serving UNVs in your country, here are some suggested outlines:

. What are the most important issues that affect their work as UN Volunteers?

· How prepared were they for the jobs and conditions in which they work?

· What do UNVs need in order for them to be more effective in their work?

· What would the UNVs like to see the Global Workshop achieve ?
