Come, glow at the Share Fair of the GLOW 2005!
The Share Fair will be a space for us to share with colleagues what we do and what we are proud of. It is a platform where we can present our best practices and ideas, where we can meet, discuss and learn from each other. Let us celebrate our achievements and our experiences; display in a colorful way the diversity in the programmes and cultural backgrounds that exist within our organization. The Share Fair will set the tone for the workshop; let’s make it an unforgettable experience!
When and where? The entire foyer and the hallways of the GLOW venue are available for the Share Fair. The opening of the Share Fair will be on the afternoon of Saturday, May 14. It will remain on display throughout the week. You can set up the stall either upon your arrival on Friday (May 13) or on Saturday morning before the programme starts at 9 am.
What and how? Each country and each headquarter group will have one pin board (1.10x1.40 meters). Tables (0.60x1.40 meters) will have to be shared. The material (photos, presentations, items, brochures, graphics) should be already prepared in order to ensure a smooth set-up. We will provide everything you need to put the material up: Glue, scotch tape, pins, paper, markers etc. If you have any audio/video material (VHS, Video CD, DVD) or a Power Point presentation, please send it via pouch or direct courier (UPS, DHL) to Leslie Loch. It should arrive in Bonn latest by 6 May. We will copy the material to one cassette to be shown at one spot of the venue.
Find a partnerIf you prefer to share a stall, please let us know in advance. We encourage you to identify your partner team (another COT or HQ group) before you come to the workshop and coordinate the presentation. In countries with a regular UNV programme and a peacekeeping mission, we suggest that both share one stall.
National dressesSaturday, May 14, will be the ‘National Dress Day’: wear the national dress of your home country or country of assignment. The intention is to celebrate our cultural diversity and heritage as a global UNV family. In the evening, there will be a National Dress Party and a Talent Show.
MusicBring along your favourite music (on CDs/cassettes) from your country to use it for the background music during the Share Fair opening and later, in the evenings, for the social events, spontaneous parties and gatherings.
LuggagePlease note that you have to carry everything in your own luggage and that whatever you bring (and take back!) should not exceed weight limits imposed by the airlines or be against the rules of customs (especially regarding food, ivory, etc.). While space at the stall is limited, your imagination is not!
